Well, Then… More Query Letters

26 05 2008

As you can probably see from the blog post, I’m sending query letters today.  (Technically, four of them are going tomorrow, but I’m going through all the trouble to print them TODAY.)  It’s a record this time: a grand total of seven query letters.

For those of you who are keeping up… I still haven’t heard from that last agent.  I figured that I was sick of waiting on her.  Who knows – maybe she’s one of those agents that doesn’t reply unless interested.

Anyway, I’m pretty thrilled.  Some of the agents might be a really good fit for my book.  And the thrill of sending novel queries still hasn’t worn off yet!  I’m pretty happy and excited about it.

I probably won’t be excited when I get seven rejections back, but that’s okay.

Excited!

7 02 2008

I’m extremely excited today.

First off, it’s my mom’s birthday. Happy birthday, mommy.

Today is also let’s-send-a-query day. Three letters went out today… I was so excited last night, when I was putting the letters together, that I just wouldn’t shut up. I’m pretty sure most of my family members now understand some of the finer details of querying. (Is that a word?)

Extra Info

4 02 2008

Just a little bit of extra information today.

Nearly all of the model-hopefuls have been contacted. Two haven’t, but that’s okay. I’m working on writing a “professional” business letter to one of them today. (I hope I spelled business right. I rarely do.)

Only one of them has returned a form, however. I’m sad. As indicated by the smiley face. =[. Although… he’s not really very smiley, now, is he?

Anyway, here’s the icon of the guy who turned the form back to me:
Danny HarkerThe character is Danny Harker, age fourteen, played by D. B.  (We’re going by initials here on the blog, just in case of stalkers.  We don’t like stalkers.)  Anyhow, the guy who’s going to portray Danny in the pictures is one of my friends from last year’s Biology class.  Nice guy – the freckles might give us a few problems, though.

My sister and I (we’re running the shoot) have been working pretty hard to get everything in order.  We’ve actually been getting together all the makeup and stuff that we’ll need for next Sunday’s shoot.

We have a lot of it, but there’s still stuff we need.  Particularly concealer and pressed powder.  And models.  Yup.  Need those too.

Anyway, three query letters to be sent on Friday.  Excited!

(Please note that I just got back from Workout Hell, so I’m not exactly very… um… making-sense-of right now.)
